The Challenge

To add a new basement storey to a substantial detached home in Hampstead Garden Suburb and to completely re-model the interior of all upper floors, including the addition of a new lift, new stairwell, and a complete new electrical, hot and cold water and air conditioning and heating system.

The Solution

After obtaining Planning Permission and consents from Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust, the Basement’s shell-and-core were completed by a specialist design-and-build contractor.

Brill + Owen co-ordinated specialist consultants for the basement waterproof tanking, the lift installation, the new steel framed staircase, structural glass light panels, an air delivery system for the basement, air conditioning on all floors, and underfloor heating throughout. The new basement accommodation includes a home cinema, spa, bar area, gymnasium, and staff accommodation.
